Innovation is Alive and Well in STL
By Meredith Goette
My dream of becoming a talk show host finally came to fruition a few weeks ago when I had the opportunity to interview Missy Kelley, President and CEO of Downtown STL. UPBrand has had the pleasure of working with Missy and her team for the last few years, helping Downtown STL tell its story while continuing to promote its mission. The organization is a catalyst for creating and promoting a Downtown that attracts investment, economic activity and vibrancy at the hub of our region.
As an agency, we love being a part of the downtown community. We embrace all that the city offers and support the growth of downtown wherever and however we can. So, it was no surprise that when we were asked to select a guest to interview for the Nitrous Effect podcast, we quickly reached out to Missy to gage her interest.
We wanted people to hear about all of the positive things happening in St. Louis. And not just about the new restaurants openings, like Sugarfire BBQ, but also the innovation community, the businesses moving here, and the national recognition our city gets for supporting start-ups in industries like fashion and technology. Then there are organizations like Fashion Fund and Arch Grants, that are working together to bring new (Global) businesses to our fine city. Altogether, downtown has nearly 200 start-ups and remains the region’s largest employment center with over 80,000 employees.
St. Louis IS a vibrant city with lots to offer those who work and live here. But don’t take it from me. Listen to the second episode of The Nitrous Effect podcast and hear about all that’s happening from Missy. Trust me, you’ll want to know how YOU can get involved.
